Abstract
Collapsed occlusal plane of patients can be caused by various reasons. Especially when the posterior support is lost by fracture of restoration, it can lead to reduction of occlusal vertical dimension and incongruity of occlusal plane. This can consequently cause functional and esthetic problems. For the treatment, the prosthetic restoration can be considered by increasing the occlusal vertical dimension. This case is about a patient who was diagnosed of skeletal Class II with open bite and facial asymmetry and was treated with orthognathic surgery and orthodontic treatment. This patient had collapsed occlusal plane due to multiple fractures of prosthetic restoration, diastema in maxillary anterior, and left posterior cross bite. Using final restoration made by CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) for stable occlusal plane, satisfactory functional and esthetic result was achieved with the increase of vertical dimension and sufficient time of temporary crown usage.
